Thursday 15 July: Doesn't look a day over 599
The Prague Astronomical Clock (or Prague Orloj) is fascinating and the first thing we saw in the Old Town. The oldest parts were made in 1410, with subsequent additions and doubtless modifications when the Gregorian Calendar came into effect in the 1500's. It tells the time - depicted by a procession of moving Apostles - and also lunar movements and other astronomical events that would have been crucial to life in Renaissance Praha.
