Over the years, Shoreditch has been home to Huguenot Weavers, Jewish clothing merchants and - more recently - Indian and Bangladeshi communities. The latter has yielded a dense concentration of restaurants, to join the bagel shops, but the area is also home to many artists and workshops. The array of signs on Buxton Street, just off Brick Lane, exemplifies this.
